We use various modalities for psychotherapy dependent on the patient's initial assessment:

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is an evidenced based modality for pediatrics and adults. This focuses on cognitive distortions that lead to behaviors; this typically includes occasional homework assignments for the patient.

DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) for pediatrics and adults; this modality uses more skill based approaches for emotional regulation with patient charting/journaling of specific interventions provided by your therapist

Solution focused Therapy is used in sessions for life events that seem to have no answer.  When we are overwhelmed, it can be helpful to get an unbiased viewpoint with practical solutions as feedback to reduce stressors.

Sensory integration is utilized within sessions as needed for everyone, but especially our neurodivergent patients.  In session we use tools, sensory specific toys, and activities to help calm an overactive nervous system for best results in your therapy session.

ERP (Exposure Response Prevention) therapy is used for pediatrics and adults.  This modality focuses on gradual exposures to safe triggers to decrease body responses/symptoms. We do not assist with the exposures in the community, however we provide exposure homework and in session. For pediatrics - parents are given guidance on how to support their child with exposures at home as well.
